We never tire of the view from Makrelvej 22 – it is simply magical. From the house and terrace, Ebeltoft Bay spreads out before you, and you can watch the light and colours change throug­hout the day. Here, there is peace and quiet, birdsong and fresh air – and you im­me­di­a­te­ly feel your shoulders drop when you arrive.

We often start the day with a dip from the bathing jetty just a few hundred metres from the house. The water in the bay is usually calm and clear, and there is something very special about standing up out of the water and seeing the sun gli­ste­ning over Ebeltoft in the distance. Then it's time for morning coffee on the terrace, where you can sit for a long time and enjoy the view, the light and the silence. The house is located high up, so there is no noise from cars or the road.

Ebeltoft is a fantastic old town with charm and soul. The narrow cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and small cour­ty­ards make it an ex­pe­ri­en­ce just to walk through the town. Here you will find cosy cafés, good re­stau­rants and small shops selling art, design and local spe­ci­a­li­ties. In summer, the town buzzes with life – but even in the quieter months, Ebeltoft has a tranquil­li­ty and warmth that makes it something very special.

The area around the house is perfect for lovely walks. The terrain is gently rolling and offers many paths with beautiful views of the bay and the sur­ro­un­ding co­un­trysi­de. Mols Bjerge National Park is right in the backyard and offers op­portu­ni­ties for both short walks and longer excur­sions in the unique natural sur­ro­un­dings.

As the day draws to a close, it is wonderful to light the spa, enjoy a quiet moment in the sauna or simply sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the bay. For us, Makrelvej 22 is a place where you can really relax and just enjoy life – exactly as a holiday should be.
